Rinku Singh had a phenomenal outing in the recently concluded IPL 2023. The Kolkata Knight Riders batter became the talk of the town ever since he smashed five sixes in the last over of Yash Dayal and took his side to victory during a match against Gujarat Titans. In 14 matches, Rinku smashed 474 runs at an average of 59.25 and a blistering strike rate of 149.53. After a hectic season of IPL, Rinku has finally taken some time off and made his way to the Maldives for a vacation.

Taking to Instagram, the 25-year-old batter has shared a series of pictures, with a picturesque location of Maldives in the backdrop. In one of the pics, he can be seen flaunting his six-pack abs while being half-immersed in a stunning blue ocean. “Caution: Addictive content ahead,” the caption of the post read.

The picture soon went viral on the social media as the fans could not stop gushing over this never seen avatar of Rinku. “Rinks,” Lucknow Super Giants pacer Mohsin Khan also commented on the pic.

Rinku smashed four half-centuries and took his side across the line on numerous occasions. However, KKR failed to make it to the Playoffs as they could get only six victories out of 14 matches and finished in the seventh spot on the points table.

Talking about the IPL 2023 season, MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings emerged as the winners of the cash-rich league after they defeated Gujarat Titans in the summit clash on May 29. CSK thrashed the defending champions by five wickets in the last-ball thriller to lift their fifth IPL title.

“For Strange Reason…”: Sunil Gavaskar Questions Hardik Pandya’s Final Over Decision | Cricket News

Mohit Sharma in action for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023© BCCI

Mohit Sharma was a star performer for Gujarat Titans in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 and with 27 wickets from 13 matches, the experienced fast bowler played a massive role in taking them to the final. However, despite taking three wickets in the summit clash, he was not able to clinch the game for his side as he conceded 10 runs in the final two balls against Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. Legendary India opener Sunil Gavaskar dissected the last over by Mohit and pointed out a moment that could have affected his rhythm.

Mohit conceded just three runs in the first four balls of the final over of the match with the first one being a dot ball.

However, the last two deliveries went for a six and a four as CSK clinched the match on the final ball of the game. Gavaskar believed that a break in concentration could have been the reason.

“He had bowled the first 3-4 delivery absolutely brilliantly. Then, for some strange reason, some water was sent to him. In the middle of the over, some drink was sent to him. Then Hardik Pandya came and spoke with him. You know when a bowler is in that rhythm and he is mentally also there, nobody should have said anything to him. Maybe from a distance, they could have just said ‘well bowled’. Going to them, talking to him – I do not think that was the right thing to do because suddenly, he was looking here and there. Till then, he was focused and I do not think what they did was the right idea. Because after that, he went for runs,” Gavaskar told Sports Today.

As Jadeja hit the winning runs, Mohit endured a bitter ending to the season that had been a fairytale until that moment.

After Chennai Super Kings secured a dramatic five-wicket win over Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 final match at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi stadium, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja came up with a beautiful post for skipper MS Dhoni. Jadeja, who hit the winning runs for CSK against GT, in the record-equalling victory for his side, dedicated the victory to none other than the ‘Thala’, in a post that went viral on social media.

“We did it for ONE and ONLY “MS DHONI. mahi bhai aapke liye toh kuch bhi…,” Jadeja tweeted.

After a fifty partnership by Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad and cameos from Shivam Dube, Jadeja showed once again why he is such a highly-rated batter in T20 cricket, scoring 10 runs off the final 2 balls to seal the win for his side.

“It feels amazing, to win my fifth title in front of my home crowd. I am from Gujarat, and it is a special feeling. This crowd has been amazing. They were waiting for rain to stop till late night, I would like to say a big congratulations to the CSK fans who came to support us. I would like to dedicate this win to a special member of the CSK side, MS Dhoni. I was just thinking I need to swing hard, as much as I can. Where the ball will go, I was not thinking about that, just looking to swing hard. I was backing myself and looking to hit straight, because I know Mohit can bowl those slower balls,” said Jadeja after the match.

MS Dhoni, Ziva And More Emotional Post-Match Scenes Sum Up CSK’s IPL Title Triumph. Watch | Cricket News

The MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings made history in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 final as they defeated defending champions Gujarat Titans in a last-ball thriller to lift the title for the ‘record-equalling’ 5th time. It was an emotional moment for fans all across the world as they saw Dhoni lead CSK all the way in what was seen as his last match in the tournament’s history. In an emotional video shared by the IPL on Tuesday morning, Dhoni could be seen lifting Ravindra Jadeja in celebration while also acknowledging GT skipper Hardik Pandya for his side’s effort. Later, daughter Ziva came and gave Dhoni a big hug, congratulating on the title.

After clinching the title, Dhoni’s daughter Ziva was seen lifting the IPL trophy with CSK players, celebrating the gigantic triumph at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Here’s the beautiful video, summing up the emotional moments after Ravindra Jadeja’s match-winning four.

Jadeja hit 10 runs off the final two balls as Chennai chased down their revised target of 171 in 15 overs with five wickets to spare in a rain-hit final which went past 1.30 am local time Tuesday on a reserve day in Ahmedabad following a washout on Sunday.

New Zealand’s Devon Conway led the chase with his 25-ball 47 before cameos from Ajinkya Rahane (27) and Shivam Dube, who hit an unbeaten 32, set the stage for Jadeja’s heroics.

Needing 13 off the final over, Mohit Sharma bowled four good balls before Jadeja hit the winning runs to trigger wild celebrations at the world’s biggest cricket stadium.

Chennai won the title for the fifth time to go level with Mumbai Indians.

Dhoni kept attracting huge crowds across venues this season and over 80,000 fans cheered the veteran, who had recently said he would take a call on his future later this year, in the final.

Ambati Rayudu also hit a key 19 off eight balls in his last match after he announced his retirement ahead of the final.

Rain forced players off the ground when Chennai were four without loss after three balls of their innings.

The downpour lasted for about 15 minutes but covers came off from one of the pitches which got damp and the groundstaff worked for over two hours to get the field ready for play.

Sai Sudharsan smashed 96 off 47 balls to guide Gujarat, a team that won the crown in their debut season last year in the T20 competition and topped the table in this edition, to 214-4.

“A Gift From My Side…”: MS Dhoni’s Huge Update On Retirement After CSK’s IPL 2023 Title Win | Cricket News

MS Dhoni provided a massive update regarding his potential retirement after Chennai Super Kings clinched their fifth Indian Premier League (IPL) title by beating Gujarat Titans by five wickets (DLS) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. The CSK skipper, who equalled Rohit Sharma as the captain with most IPL titles, said that announcing his retirement will be the “easy thing” but he wants to train for the next nine months and try to play in the next season as a “gift” for his fans.

“Looking for an answer? Circumstantially if you see this is the best time for me to announce retirement. But the amount of love and affection that I have been shown, wherever I have been this year…I think the easy thing for me to say would be to say ‘Thank you very much’, but the tough thing for me would to work hard for nine months and come back and play at least one more season of IPL. But a lot depends on the body. It would take 6-7 months to decide. It will be more like a gift from my side. It’s not easy for me but the way they have shown their lose and affection, that’s something that I need to do,” he said at the post-match presentation.

“My eyes were full of water, I needed to take some time off in the dugout. I realised I need to enjoy this. I think they love me for what I am, they love that I am so grounded, I don’t try to portray something I’m not. Just keep it simple. Every trophy is special, but what is special about IPL is every crunch game you need to be ready,” he added.

Under the stewardship of Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings embellished their already fabulous record in the IPL with a fifth title triumph, beating Gujarat Titans by five wickets in a thrilling summit showdown.

Dhoni has been the cynosure of all eyes ever since the Indian Premier League began this year and in a fitting end to the finale, the captain finished with a record-levelling fifth trophy.

B Sai Sudharsan slammed 96 in 47 balls as Gujarat Titans posted 214 for four after being asked to bat first.

Set a revised target of 171 in 15 overs after rain interrupted play at the start of the second innings of a final that was pushed to the reserve day owing to heavy downpour, CSK completed the task in the last ball, in what could turn out to be Dhoni’s final outing in the T20 league.

Ravindra Jadeja struck a six and a four off Mohit Sharma in the final two balls to win it for CSK and even as the players in the yellow jersey run onto the field, Dhoni remained in the dugout, his eyes closed.

Neither the juggernaut of the Gujarat Titans nor bad weather for two days could stop Dhoni’s men from drawing level with their arch rivals Mumbai Indians, in terms of most IPL trophy wins.

It remains to be seen whether Dhoni would return to lead CSK once again next year or not, as the entire IPL and even the final was all about Dhoni-mania.

Gujarat Titans’ 21-year-old Sai Sudharsan played the scintillating innings to notch up the highest score by an uncapped player in the history of the Indian Premier League final. Sudharsan achieved this feat during the IPL 2023 final match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday where he played a sensational innings of 96 off just 47 balls. Sudharsan also became the second-youngest batter to score a half-century in the IPL final. At the age of 21 years and 226 days, He broke the record of Manan Vohra, who scored a fifty in the IPL 2014 final, at the age of 20 years and 318 days. GT acquired Sudharsan for Rs. 20 lakh in the IPL 2022 auction.

Coming to the match, Sai Sudharsan’s sensational knock of 96 and Wriddhiman Saha’s fine fifty propelled Gujarat Titans (GT) to 214/4 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the final of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 here at Narendra Modi Stadium on Monday.

Sudharsan scored the highest for Gujarat with a sensational 96 off 47 deliveries while Saha played a fine knock of 54 off 39 balls. For CSK, Matheesha Pathirana bagged two while Deepak Chahar and Ravindra Jadeja scalped one wicket each.

After being put to bat first, Gujarat Titans got off to the finest start with their openers Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha slamming CSK bowlers all around the ground.

The Gujarat openers rotated the strike brilliantly, not allowing the CSK bowlers to settle down while whacking the loose balls on offer.

CSK’s experienced all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja provided his team with a big breakthrough as he dismissed star batter Gill for 39 off 20 balls in the seventh over of the game. However, Saha displayed great resilience and determination as he slammed CSK bowlers at regular intervals.

The left-handed batter Sai Sudharsan then came out to bat. The pair of Saha and Sudharsan took their team’s target beyond the 100-run mark, stitching up a fine partnership.

Pandya and Sudharsan stitched up fifty run partnership stand in just 23 balls. Pandya and Sudharsan hammered Deshpande for 18 runs and guided their team beyond the 200-run mark.

CSK bowlers did not had any answer to Sudharsan’s on slaughter as the batter kept hammering every bower all around the ground.

In the last over, Sudharsan slammed two back-to-back sixes, however, he lost his wicket to Matheesha Pathirana. Sudharsan fell short of 4 runs off making his maiden IPL century. Rashid Khan then came out to bat.

Watch: MS Dhoni’s Lightning Quick Stumping To Dismiss Shubman Gill In IPL 2023 Final | Cricket News

MS Dhoni (L) completed the stumping to dismiss Shubman Gill© BCCI

It was trademark MS Dhoni as the Chennai Super Kings skipper pulled off a lightning quick stumping to dismiss Shubman Gill during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 final against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday. It was a flat delivery from Ravindra Jadeja but Gill tried to play for the turn. The ball kept its line and the batsman lost his balance for a bit after missing the delivery completely. The split second was enough for Dhoni who was at it in a flash and was able to dislodge the bails before Gill could return to the crease. Gill was dismissed after scoring 39 off 20 balls.

Dhoni won the toss and opted to bowl against defending champions Gujarat Titans.

“We’ll bowl first with the rain forecast being around. Yesterday we were in the dressing room. As a cricketer, you always want to play. It was the crowd that suffered the most. Hopefully, we can entertain them. The pitch has been undercover for a long time, but throughout the tournament, the pitch has behaved well over here. Quite happy it will be a 20-over game we’ll be playing. Serves justice to the tournament like this. Same team,” CSK captain MS Dhoni said at the time of the toss.

“Would’ve bowled first as well, but my heart wanted to bat so I don’t mind losing the toss. We spoke that it is something out of our control (weather). Whichever team plays better will have their hands on the trophy. I like keeping the boys cool, and they repay me. It’s a flat track (what he makes of the pitch?). Same team,” Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya said.

‘Shraddha Kapoor Reason Behind Rain In IPL Final’, Says Fan. Actress Reacts | Cricket News

Heavy rain and thunderstorms in Ahmedabad on Sunday forced the Indian Premier League final between holders Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings into a reserve day for the first time in the competition’s history. Fans had arrived at the venue in big numbers, looking to watch the legendary MS Dhoni in action, potentially for the last time. But, rain played spoilsport, with not a single delivery being possible. As chatter on the washed-out fixture flooded social media, a fan blamed actress Shraddha Kapoor for the rain at the venue.

Shraddha, who was a part of the Jio Cinema panel for the IPL 2023 final, even took to Instagram and shared the fan’s comments. Fair to say that she found the fan’s take truly amusing.

Rain began 35 minutes before the toss and went on for over two hours and 40 minutes before it stopped and raised hopes for the game to begin at the world’s biggest cricket stadium.

But a second downpour washed out the day, leaving thousands of fans, who had taken shelter in the covered areas of the 132,000-seater stadium, disappointed.

The ground was a sorry soggy sight when officials called off play for the day and a message on the giant screen, for the fans, read “please keep your physical tickets safe!”.

The action will begin on Monday with an IPL final heading for a reserve day for the first time in its 16-year-long history.

The weather department of the western city predicts a slim (10 percent) chance for evening rains on Monday as well.

The match is believed to be Chennai skipper M. S. Dhoni’s last as a player and fans turned up in numbers wearing the yellow jersey of the superstar cricketer.

Chennai will be aiming for a record-equalling fifth title to go level with IPL powerhouse Mumbai Indians, led by all-format India captain Rohit Sharma.

Dhoni has led his team to their 10th IPL final including four trophies and five runners-up finishes.

Gujarat, captained by Hardik Pandya, have extended their fairytale journey which began with a title win in their debut season last year at the same venue.

The T20 competition, which began in 2008, has grown into the world’s richest cricket tournament and a huge revenue earner for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
